Trees are profound symbols woven into the fabric of human culture and the natural world. Their power arguably lies in their majestic scale, in the intricate geometry of their limb-like branches and the vibrant cycle of their foliage – from the fresh burst of spring greens to the fiery hues of autumn and the stark, beautiful silhouette winter brings. This constant state of renewal makes trees potent emblems of life, death and rebirth.
How It’s Made
Our trees are composed of carefully paired layers of high quality 3mm ply, variously veneered with birch, bubinga and walnut, amongst other hardwoods, before being scored, engraved and cut to size.
These bare layers are then painted with watercolours and / or dyed with a variety of inks and stains before finish is applied and assembly occurs. Last but not least, the final assembly is fitted and fixed into a 25x25cm shadow box frame. These come in three shades: black, white and grey.
Every Piece Unique
Please note that no two of our trees are the same! As a consequence of the distinctive grain patterns of the hardwood veneers we adhere to our sustainably sourced substrates, as well as our in-house painter’s artistic inclinations, every piece we produce is completely unique: a one-of-a-kind work of art with a depth and complexity certain to catch the eyes of passers-by.

Create Your Own
If none of The Trees we have in stock are quite right for you or your space, don’t worry – we get it. That’s why we’re happy to offer you the option to Create Your Own. Your options include:
the direction your tree leans in
a selection of hardwood veneers with which we’ll form the trunk and outline of your tree
your selection of up to three colours for our artist to incorporate into the design
and a choice between black, white or grey frames
Simply add The Tree (Create Your Own) to your cart and complete the form that pops up when checking out to provide the additional details we’ll need to start work on your own personalised Feather.
Production on these pieces can take up to 10 days, but please be patient – we promise to make sure your custom version of The Tree is worth the wait.
